you don't turn double digits everyday.
in fact, the next significant place value is three digits. and seriously, at that point will you really care? um, not so much...
so we pulled out all the stops for this one...
breakfast in bed:
the younger two and i made a strawberry cake:
bowls do not belong on the head...(but he is kinda cute):
monkey see, monkey do:
i promise, we washed the bowls:
see:
the birthday cake cooling off (looks yummy!):
spreadin' some love:
viola:
meanwhile, back at the ranch...(kai wanted to go to horse camp for her birthday)
remember these boots from last birthday? the pioneer woman would be proud:
awww...isn't she precious? (but she smells like horse ka-ka right about now):
the festivities continued at chickory cafe over some delish biegnets.
can you tell the difference between the next two photos?:
aw, come on. look hard.
the first one is at 3:36pm.
the second one is at 3:37pm.
she has officially turned 10! doesn't she look SO much more mature?
and every princess needs a knight in shining armor who brings her flowers:
and then it was on to the most anticipated part of the day...opening presents:
(colby! stop picking your nose! you'll never get a date to the prom doing that!)
yes, she asked for one. she is her mother's child. makes me want to cry:
dinner out with friends and the obligatory "i'm so embarrassed but really not because i wanted them to sing happy birthday to me so everyone could see me" moment:
happy birthday, kai kai. who knew what a joy you would be to us ten years ago when your daddy was crying like a baby saying, "she's beautiful" and your mother was asking for more drugs. you are beautiful in every way...
