{first wanted to say thank you for all my girlies--and patti in michigan-- who sent encouraging comments after last post. i was definitely in a "what have we done, i want to go home" kind of funk. as usual, God has been so faithful and just lined up some huge connections after my meltdown. big hugs--i's misses yal!}
in honor of the first day of spring and the boxes being unpacked, i decided that i needed to get back to blogging.
we have survived "the big move" (whoo hoo!) and are settled in the midwest. i highly recommend NOT trying to move your family in three weeks--waaaaayyyy overrated!
the kiddies are lovin' the neighborhood...kids, folks walking dogs and babies in strollers galore.
so far, we have had neighbors bring over flowers, cookies, fresh baked breads and sweet notes welcoming us to the neighborhood. (gotta love the midwest!) so the house is totally small, but still cute inside--it grows on you after awhile. we have decided to try to stay in the neighborhood if we end up here longer than a year.
i have gone to a homeschool conference, the kids are participating in sports activity and i even found a church that has a homeschool coop for the kids (kinda like HEART). even queen has adjusted after having a serious breakdown after the first snowfall (where's the grass??? i gotta tinkle!!!). but the squirrels and chipmunks drive her batty (i have bets on when she will go through one of the windows trying to chase one---for now, she just looks out the window whining). seriously, i forgot how big the squirrels grow out here--they look like they could go a couple of rounds with BY.
commercial break: if you ever need to have trash removed and can't wait for garbage day. call 1800gotjunk please---they are so way totally cool as colby would say. we used them occasionally in cali and then had to use them twice to get all the boxes hauled off. the second time they came, the franchise owner brought us a bin of pretzels just to say thanks! then after they took out the boxes, he proceeded to sweep and clean my foyer floors to get rid of the little debris---gotta love that service! and every time, and i mean, every time, i have called them, the phone operators are all perky and cool! and they will haul ANYthing away and will come on the same day you call! here's the trunk (i know they thought i was weird when i asked if i could take a pic of the truck for scrap purposes)...
ok, enough advertising.
kiddies and their sports...how cute is this...they are huddled up trying to decide what to call their team...
other random shots...
what happens when mommy is busy unpacking boxes and half answers when the kids ask if they can do tattoos.
outside play...when it was way too cold to be outside (hence the white mouth)...
the weather cannot make up its mind about how it wants to be. we have gone from hats and gloves to shorts and then back to heavy coats and gloves. really not good for the psychie when you open your door and think it's warm but really it is 12 degrees. (really makes you want to move to california).
so i've got proof just in case she comes down with the "you are ruining my life" disease when she hits puberty...
{update: so the homeschool mom in me cringed when i reread this post and notice she wrote "your" instead of "you're"...still a sweet note..guhes we bettir wurk on that moor....}
reason number 56,009,874,765,234 why skype rocks: piano lessons from cali! yippeeeee, we are still able to continue simply music with our favorite teacher, mrs. asbhy!
other note:
bryce turned 3 on st. patty's day! kinda makes me want to have another one (kinda...).
he got to open one present in the morning and then picked where we would go for lunch--chikfila, of course! we were able to pull some kiddies from the neighborhood for a dinner birthday party.
my little guy is getting big! happy birthday, b!
so, i've moved to indy and decided to go al'naturale. huh???? i have been up way to late...and i wasn't even scrappin...i have been researching hair products. i realized that i was totally frying my hair with 'cones and sulfates and parabens and other things that i cannot pronounce. now, i am experimenting with natural and organic hair products and for the first time my hair is actually "bouncy" and doesn't feel so dried out jheri curlish (yal chocolate sisters know what i am talking about!). i have been rocking a curly fro...
ok, long post. enough for now...
peace, love and hair grease (but none with mineral oil or petroleum--so BAD for hair!)....
